Tales of Chateau Midden

Life with Fester, Ferretfingers and Thunderthighs: an obsessive entomologist turning mining historian and our two autistic sons. This blog has been prompted by family and friends reading facebook posts and saying "You should write a book". But I don't know how to go about that so they'll have to make do with this.

Housewife, chauffeuse, carer, well-educated, articulate, earth-mother; getting bolshier with age.

Bentonbag
Almost all the names in this blog have been changed to protect the innocent/guilty. Bentonbag is a part Welsh/ Geordie/Scots/Irish/English (?Scandinavian?) old-fashioned, well educated, articulate, obstinate earth-mother housewife, carer and chauffeuse ( husband does not drive) getting more bolshie and shorter-fused with age (if that's possible). Sons' autism is my excuse for giving up PR freelancing. Born in Tidworth Military Hospital. Raised in Manordeilo. Educated at Cwmifor CP, Llandeilo Grammar, Tregib Comprehensive, Newcastle University. Married, widowed, lived with Fester for 2 decades and 2 children before marrying again. Until 2013 I was a member of Tyne Bridge, a women's North West Clog Morris team: my clogs and bells are on a long loan to Mrs Leftfoot's daughter. I have also danced in Cotswold Morris and Rapper Sword dance teams. Rapper is the North East's own tradition, originally danced by miners in pit villages.
