My day
commenced with a trip to the Odeon for the 10am showing of The Mummies, which
was quite fun if loud (and had Sean Bean doing posh voiceover for an animated
Pharaoh). It was Ferretfingers' choice
so I made him sit through it. He sat through right to the very end of the credits, announcing "The light's come
on" when they did and, on the extra bit "Ooh Happy Endings",
before galmumphing out followed by his giggling mother.
We are
back in a fortnight to watch The Mario Brothers Super Movie or some such;
he was given a small poster on the way out.
On our
return I made him help make a 'healthy' brunch of scrambled eggs on toast,
followed by a banana. I find I can only
do decent scrambled eggs in the microwave.
I've had
a satisfying afternoon.
Three varieties
of tomato, California Wonder sweet peppers, marrow and sunflower seeds are
planted and sitting on the bay windowsill covered with clear(ish) plastic trays
in hopes of keeping the cats off.
I have
separated the jade plant cuttings into three pots (one each). They're quite forgiving plants, the only
things that kill them are frost and overwatering.
Apropos of which I've managed to kill all my
scented leaf geraniums by leaving them out over winter and not keeping at least
one in the house.
Getting
the seeds planted means I can finally have a go at the pile of sewing, altering
and creating waiting on top of the sewing machine cabinet.
After
taking Thunderthighs to get his ears syringed.
And
unless something else comes up ...
