Once again I’ve resorted to pillaging leap year entries, and now have none left.

So
I go to draw Ferretfingers’ curtains and guess who's asleep on his bed ... not
Goldilocks.

I love you Ben, you have a fantastic take on life xxx

Jessie from No3 lives with three under fives (?), including one toddler
who obviously wants to pick him up and hug him and love him.
The cat has other ideas and wants to stay with
us where it's peaceful and Fester and Thunderthighs keep feeding him.
I don't.
I usually chase him out.
He shoots in every time the back door is left
open - which makes gardening a challenge as I have to remember to shut the
kitchen door so he can't get in the house.
But I'm beginning to relent.
He appears at bedtime asking to be out,
sometimes when I didn't even know he was in.
By the way I planted the ffa yesterday.
Mrs
Quilt After the flood Jess and Lola
moved in with us. They were very reluctant to go home. Lola hid in her house of
noisy teenagers and squealing girls. She spent every evening here on Aidan’s
chair, on his lap if he was using it. Jess spent his evenings beside me, he was
too wary to be picked up. Both were strays originally.

One
Sunday afternoon last Summer I was in the living room and saw something out of
the corner of my eye. It was Jessie
flashing by the window and disappearing into next door’s garden.
I looked and saw a toddler passing under the
bay, followed by a slightly older little girl, pursued by an older one still,
with a very frazzled and apologetic mum coming through the gate trying to get
the children out again. I was actually
most bothered that one of them might come to grief on our very aggressive yucca
(it will have your eye out if you’re not careful).
I’ve
also see the same toddler at full pelt, arms outstretching, calling “Jesseeee” as
the cat fled up the street.
It’s
got to the point where if it’s wet and/or cold enough I let him stay out of
pity.
Apart from the occassional spit spat Felix and Teddy seem sort of reconciled to it.
He’s
now progressed to mewing to be let in.
