Recovering from seeing a recording of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue at the Theatre Royal last night - and the pint of beer consumed because we went in on the Metro.

I’ve made orange jelly frogs and chocolate rice-krispy (in fact probiotic star) cakes for Fester's birthday.

Have just been on BBC Radio Newcastle's Sue Sweeny show.
They rang me to ask about morris dancing (I must be on someone's contacts' list).
Managed to remember to mention Woodlawn Summer Fayre and Wallsend Festival.

Burney has turned up and taken Fester to the pub.

Gardeners' opinions required.
Should I use growbags or multipurpose compost (peat free of course) in the pots/tubs I'm going to put my tomato/pumpkin/courgettes in?
I don't use growbags as they are I use them to fill up tubs and the like - about 2ft diameter tops - throw in growmore as well and tomato feed when the plants get fruit on.
I've done pumpkins the past few years - be aware that they will trail all over the garden and grab hold of things in the night. I had to fight for my clothesprop most mornings last summer/autumn and began to fear for the cat if it fell asleep too near.
Sadly the frost got to my best pumpkins before I could harvest it.
Mr Browntin  I've done courgettes in tubs a number of times.  All three of those plants will tear through whatever nutrients are in your compost in no time.  You got any liquid compost from a wormery? That's the way to keep them growing...

Too wet for a snail hunt but I did take the hedgehog his supper of rejected cat food about twenty minutes ago.  He was happily scavenging under the bird feeders and has started to get used to me and my torch.  I said 'good evening' nicely and put the bowl in its usual place on the step to the bower.
Dulcima I've been putting scraps, including rejected cat food, out on the furthest bit of lawn, and it all goes.  Though I think the crows get first dibs.
