Did anyone in the Benton area hear two big bangs last night about a quarter past eleven?
I could have sworn it was someone battering at our front door but there was no-one about.
When I looked out of the bedroom window the street was empty and still.
Fester's reaction was "What's Thunderthighs done?" but I went up and listened and he was sound asleep.
Ferretfingers was also upstairs and in bed so nothing to do with him either.
No sign of anything amiss this morning either.
Miss Doozer  We heard nothing – Doozer Esquire had tunes on and I was listening to the radio.
Ms Marx  I thought it was fireworks, went on for longer than 2 bangs, I think.
Couldn't see anything, though.

Snail hunt last night in light drizzle: 5 snails; 5 frogs on banks of pond; one tabby cat.
For a moment, when I heard the foliage rustling I hoped it was the hedgehog, but it was only Jessicat - who I have to keep telling doesn't live here.
McChurch  Do frogs eat snails? Interpret that how you will.

The cold weather is my fault.  I bought a sun-lounger and put the winter coats away.
Mrs JW  Lovely sunny and warm in Wales
Miss Doozer  Cheer up; 10th June is World ‘Knit in Public’ day. Get yourself along to Segedunum from 11.30 – 1.30 and knit a jumper.
Mrs MM  Me too I have been cold all day
Dulcima  Twas ever thus.
Wooler Woman  You should know better at your age!
