Fester baking bread, me making apple jelly -
how 'self-sufficient in suburbia' can you get?

Am I miserable for preferring today's cool drizzle to yesterday's unseasonable exhausting heat?
Henlady  Me too, I melt when it is so hot- something to do with tablets and hot flushes !

Thunderthighs just came in and presented me with a tiny fragment of tooth.
Once I'd ascertained it had come off the one that they're eventually going to pull out and that he's in no pain I was happy.
Going upstairs he called "It'll grow back right?"

Back in 2020 when we got back from the RVI with Ferretfingers broken ankle, but before lockdown, Cousin Daisy brought me an orchid with two stems of lovely pink flowers.  They lasted ages and once they were over I cut back the stems as instructed and put the pot on the bathroom shelf, as it's the most humid room in the house.  It was kept damp and fed and, eventually another flower spike appeared so I brought it back downstairs into a lighter, warmer place.  Yesterday I was rewarded with a beautiful bloom.
