I'm
afraid anticipation of the cold got the better of me and I stayed in and
knitted last night, rather than go to the WI (which would have involved
wrapping up warm in a room with all the windows open).
Also Only Connect is one of the few tv
programmes Fester and I watch together.
Today's
pre-farm plan is to empty/harvest one of the potato bins. Ferretfingers loves scrabbling around looking
for them. We had four and got a stone
out of the biggest. This is #2 so there
will probably be less.
Mrs
Jeremy I love watching Only Connect as well. You might have seen our younger son appearing
with his team, The Steelers, in previous episodes this series.
Bentonbag We undoubtedly did, but didn't
notice the connection.
Drummerman If rastaman came from Barnsley the accent might be
thicker: we came across the Frumptarn Guggenband at a folk festival- they
explained the first part of the name as “Are you from Barnsley?”.
Mrs
Leftfoot Wow Drummerman you're the only other people we know who
have mentioned seeing them. We saw them
both years at Towersey.
Drummerman Saw them at Derby Folk Festival twice.
Woolerwoman I love Only Connect - I sit rapt in wonder every week.

When she was a WAAF
my mother once had to decode a message from one of the other storekeepers, a
Yorkshireman, about something which had been delivered but nobody could
find. The note read "Put int anger
whalt mornin." After interrogating
him they discovered it meant "Placed in the hangar until
the morning."

Apparently Aberdeen
is known in some quarters as “Furry Boots Town”: “Furry boots are ye frae?”.
