When
I was on the PTA committee organising the Woodlawn School Xmas Pudding Fun Run,
we would usually end up with more puddings than required. These would be put safely away for the next
year, provided that their best before date was after the next Christmas.
One
year the Run had to be cancelled altogether because of ice and we were left
with puddings that had gone out of date.
We were informed that the foodbank wouldn’t accept them, so I brought
them home. Many went to friends and
family, we ate a few and as for the rest … see below

Fester and
I have just been out to lunch together
To
Mrs Treasurer
- Remember the best-before Xmas puds I liberated? I put a half dozen in a bird feeder and hung
it up in the apple tree for tits, blackbirds etc. There are half a dozen bumble bees feeding on
the puds and it appears other insects and even snails are eating them too.

Been a
busy mummy booking Ullswater Steamer and South Tynedale steam train trips for next
weekend.
I haven't put the washing out
because they keep saying it's going to rain.
But not so far so bugger it - it can go out
and get soaked.
Mrs
Quilt It bucketed down in London
this morning until I'd put on the waterproofs and set out for Kings Cross. The
rain stopped, I sweltered! Bonus was that the train started from KX so we were
able to board 20 minutes early. Wonderful journey until we stopped on the bridge
outside Newcastle Central Station to wait 9 minutes for the previous train to clear the platform!!
