This time last year Ferretfingers had his ankle Xrayed at the Freeman, our closest hospital, to find out if his infected wound was causing or caused by any deeper problems (it isn’t).
When he broke his ankle in 2020 he was treated in
the RVI in town, and at times being with him there was emotional enough.
Sometimes bereavement grief blindsides us, even many
years after the loss.

Ferretfinges’
Xray yesterday went well and we should hear something in a week to ten days. We got the 55 to South Gosforth roundabouts
and walked up from there. Afterwards the
38 to High Heaton Co-op to get his tv magazines, then the 52 home.
What I wasn't prepared for was the rush of emotion and memories going into and out of the Main Entrance of the Freeman. All those times visiting Phil, and that last time when I went in a wife and came out a widow.
Hard.
But I'm all right now, and wondering whether
it's worth putting yesterday's damp washing back out before the rain is due at
1pm.
That photo just made me think all the times something stupids happened to you, Phil's hiding round a corner laughing his head off. 😀
ReplyDeleteThere have been times when I could swear I could hear him chuckling.
