Drummerman What evidence is there for this?
Woolerwoman Precious little evidence, but research indicates
that, where complex actions can be easily achieved, simpler actions must
therefore also be possible.
There is,
however, the question of the reward factor...
Bentonbag Oh I don't know. Thunderthighs learnt to put
his socks in the washer when I was away at Easter and they threatened to run
out. He has also learnt how to put them
on the sock hanger to dry and to pair and put them away.
Today we
had a lesson on "hanging washing on the line, and why we do it
Mum/Grandma's way". Due to benign
parental neglect he can also use the toaster, microwave, kettle, grill and oven
(albeit mostly for pizzas). He sees
putting the bins out as his job, and can be persuaded to mow the simple bits of
the lawn. Now if I could only persuade
him to do the windows ....
Woolerwoman Benign neglect eh??? Seems to work.
Bentonbag Definitely with our two when it comes to food
preparation. They soon learnt to prepare
their own breakfasts at weekends when we refused to get up.
The downside being the unhealthiness of what
they prepare for themselves.
Woolerwoman Sounds worth it for an extra lie
in.
Ms Delune Working on it, but he tried
licking the bleach bottle so we have backtracked a bit!
Mrs Quilt Steady on Ben, the windows divide the male
race - some see them as a challenge, others don't notice their existence
