All
the cards are strung up, candles on mantlepiece, foil on chimney breast behind
them to protect paint from smoke (and give pretty reflections), even got some
of the ironing done, Ferretfingers off to the Day Centre, Fester and I doing
some last minute shopping and hope to meet up with friends for coffee in the
Grainger Market.
On
the down side the family cold seems to have finally found me.

Ferretfingers
and I (but mostly him) decorated the tree yesterday afternoon/evening.
We’ve accumulated so many decorations over the
years you can hardly see any tree.
Today I
shall be wrapping and ironing and trying to bring some tiny element of tidyness
to the living room (don’t hold out much hope for the last one).
Anyone who wishes to interrupt me in these
challenges will be welcomed with coffee/tea (other beverages are available) and
biscuits.

Today we
get the goose.
Thunderthighs
helped me tinsel up the ceiling of the back room yesterday – with Teddycat
desperate to catch and kill the shiny snakes.
Ferretfingers’s
tinselled the tree.
There is
foil on the chimney breast and 24 candles on the mantlepiece.
The cake
waits to be iced and I’ve given up on the ironing mountain.
Bess
Cavalier Best thing to do with the ironing pile. I've got ironing outstanding from
summer 2015! I obviously have too many clothes.
Bentonbag You can
never have too many clothes - just not enough occasions.
Ferretfingers is helping by tearing up any t-shirt he's wearing
that has a hole in it. We had half a dozen packets of Sainsbury's white cotton
ts, and a drawer or two full of the same, which he inherited from his Uncle Steve in 2012 and they're beginning to wear out. Not bad seeing as he wears a
clean one nearly every day - provided I catch it and dispatch it to the laundry
basket when he takes it off.
