Family Medicine: Cats

From Facebook Archives

Today both cats are to be taken to the vet so that the nurse can weigh them prior to flea/tick/worm treatments.  I'm assured weighing is free but they have to do it for the product licence.
We have only one cat carrier.  Made by Phil out of library shelves and as heavy as lead.
Big enough for two small cats or kittens if they were friendly.
We therefore have appointments at 11am and 12 noon…
Later
The weighing was free.  Mind you the treatment cost £36 each.

Felix weighs 4.09kilo, Teddy 4.9.
Fester came with to carry the catbox.
Felix mewled all the way there and back.  Teddy was silent.
The nurse judged both fit and well and sometime over the next couple of days we have the joy of trying to persuade them to take a worming tablet, and then do the drop on flea etc treatment.
When I went out to put some rubbish in the bin last night I could hear frogs purring in the pond, so we should have even more frogspawn this morning.
Wooler Woman  The joys of giving a cat a pill!  We used to use the 'James Herriott' method of encasing the cat in a large towel first but cats are equipped with efficient anti-wrapping devices.  Some of the scars healed eventually.
