Getting There A Bit More

Nobody seems to sell blancmange powder any more, vital for my trifles as I hate cold custard.  Mrs Quilt has since supplied us with a dozen or more sachets which will keep us in trifle ingredients for a few years.

When Ferretfingers finally came home from hospital after his ankle infection (how simple that sounds!) we had weekly Community Nurse visits to clean the wound and replace his pico-vac dressing.

Late today as first thing this morning was taken up with making blancmange for Ferretfingers’ birthday tea.
I usually make a trifle for birthday tea but Ferretfingers refuses to touch it.
But if I make jelly, blancmange and whip in separate bowls he will put them together in his dish.
Tomorrow I shall be off before 8 to set up a LDNE stall at a craft fair in Errington Hall, Earsdon (near Whitley Bay) so if you're in the neighbourhood...
Mrs Quilt  Did you find proper blancmange?
Bentonbag   Fester found some sachets in Morrisons a while ago.
Mrs Quilt lucky!

I was going to blog this morning but the carpet fitters arrived early and I didn't want to disturb them by going up and downstairs and in and out of the office too much.
Then there was Ferretfingers' birthday tea.
The fitters have done a lovely job - including shifting all the boxes and bags of books and yarn on the top landing.  Those are all now in Thunderthighs' penthouse and will have to be shifted back this evening.
The new stairs and landing carpet is 'fern green' slightly darker than the one that was put down in 2012, and it feels a lot plusher on the feet.

Adam was our community nurse today.  From now on he/they will be coming once a week, on a Tuesday, as a lot of the wound has closed and the rest is scab with skin growing underneath and 'a healthy blood supply'.  So another strange stab of emotion at the news, mostly relief I suppose.

Anyway those boxes won't shift themselves. ...
