What a day.
Off first thing to school to persuade Thunderthighs
to have his tetanus booster (took half an hour and emotional blackmail).
Then the roofers arrived and
repaired/replaced the slates the snow took off.
Then I booked hotels for our Scottish trip.
Then up to the metro station with Ferretfingers
to surrender his old travel card as his new one with companion concession has
arrived.
And those are just the highlights!
Mr Mull Where in Scotland?
Bentonbag Feb 20
Newcastle-Glasgow via Carlisle
21 Glasgow-Mallaig
22 Mallaig-Inverness via
ferry to Skye, buses to Broadford and Kyle of Lochalsh, then train.
23
Inverness-Newcastle via Carlisle.
Ferrefingers' Disabled Persons' Railcard
arrived this morning so tomorrow I'm off to get the Freedom of Scotland passes.
Mr
Mull So, not
heading towards us then...
Bentonbag I wish - maybe next
year if I can work out the ferries
Mr
Mull Ferries
to Mull are easy - they can be every two hours from Oban and the ferries are
just a few minutes from the train station. Mind you outside the summer
timetable (from Easter to end of October) there can be only two or three ferries
a day.
Bentonbag Fester tends to be
doing fieldwork in the summer - hence this trip in February half term.
Doing the West Highland line has been a long
felt want: it was something Phil said he would do when he got better, but never
did.
