Battery Blues

From Facebook Archives

The night before last, 05.00am, the smoke alarm on the loft landing started peeping every 7 seconds.
As you can imagine this led to some swearing, shouting and screaming.
Thunderthighs, being tall enough, got it out and we blew and shook a duster at it, and it eventually stopped.
Until 1am this morning when it started again.
Getting the dust away didn't seem to help and it's been at it ever since - like Chinese water torture.
If I knew which fuse it was on I'd pull it out.
I have texted (07.30 this morning) and emailed Will Fixit, as yet no reply.
Any advice welcome.
Miss Doozer  Switch all the lights and lamps on and pull fuses until it stops. Then live without those sockets or lights.
Or just move house.
Drummerman  Has it got a back-up battery (If it’s a wired in one).  Ours starts beeping when it needs replacing.  It does it at long enough intervals to lull you into thinking it’s stopped, then does it again.
Woolerwoman  Yes, mine do that too
Bentonbag  Will Fixit has responded to my maiden's cry and is due here lunchtime.

Drummerman was correct
