Knitting (and crochet) Yarn

I’ve worked out what my knitting projects are going to be for the next few months, and the order I'm going to do them in.  So I'm feeling settled in at least one corner of the chaos I call my life.
Woolerwoman  I bought some wool about October with the intention of making a bedspread.  I'd made two scarf-like sections when it dawned on me that to carry on knitting a whole bedspread would probably take the equivalent of about £200 worth of wool!!
As friends, including Mrs Drummerman, have pointed out, crochet is much quicker, just need to remember how to do it!
When we were all about 14/15 yrs old, there was a craze for crocheted ponchos.
My friend's mother could make one in a evening.
Bentonbag  I get quite a lot of wool from charity shops.  If you're not bothered about having it in one single colour, you can make a very interesting bedspread for a lot less, especially if you're making Afghan (granny) squares.  Also you can have different textures.  If you've got any old hand-knits that are worn at the elbow or you don't like any more give them a good wash, unpick and unravel, they're a bit kinky to work with but look just as good when finished
Woolerwoman  Good idea, thank you
