Esteemed Homemaking

From Facebook Archives

Himself has just received a spam academic email addressed to "Esteemed Fester."
They wouldn't be doing that if they knew he'd discovered the Quest and Travel channels and keeps watching Shed & Buried and some awful thing about people living on the Alaskan tundra.  It's a change from antiques, collectables and other tat, but no better.
He's managed to get the telly in the kitchen working again with Ferretfingers' help (I refused, funny what he can do when I won't) so now he can go back to listening to the radio on the tv, despite there being a perfectly functional radio in there already.

This tale reminds me of the time when he watched every cookery programme going.

One morning when we were supposed to be going somewhere I went to chivvy him along, saw he was watching telly and spat out “Oh God, not another cookery programme!”
“No” with injured dignity.
Then sheepishly “It’s flower arranging.”

Today I'm only going as far as the garage.
Everything is put back on the mantelpiece (it even got furniture polished) and all but a few cards have gone on the fire.   I've rearranged the furniture away from the radiator to let the heat out.  It's lovely having the chaise longue in the bay window in the summer for reading and needlework, but it does block the heat.
All the mats have been hoovered and/or moved and all that's in the bay now is my rocking chair.
Himself approves of the new arrangement saying
"It's harder to trip over things."

I’m back to knit’n’natter tomorrow and then to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne for the weekend, with Pearl.

I missed out in October because of The Coven, and the tide times were wrong.
Given the weather forecast it should be an interesting trip.
So there will be no more Tales until Tuesday, at the earliest.
