Rising Lazarus

Following on from yesterday’s Impatient Patient

It's wet here so I've no intention of taking Ferretfingers out to the Quayside Market, especially as he threw a mega tantrum in the newsagents yesterday when I refused to allow him to buy the Scum, Scar and Daily Fail as well as all the other papers, to go with all the tv magazines he bought earlier in the week.
On the plus side I did get him to wash some dishes and scrub the sides of the bath.
He wasn't too happy last night when his leaning towers of DVDs collapsed at least twice.
All the cards are writ, bar the ones to Fester's friends that I insist he add his scribble to.
Thunderthighs will probably post them for me, and has small piles of unstamped local ones to deliver by hand.
I suppose I now have to think about a tree.
Fester is feeling well enough to ask for some porridge, wanly requesting "can you put some jam in it?"

Fester has risen from his sickbed and signed the cards to his friends & family
Mrs Bun  HURRAH
Mrs Leftfoot  Lazarus.
Drummerman  Mrs Leftfoot…You're commenting on his smell???
Bentonbag  Ferretfingers has just come up to the bedroom, bringing him the Observer crossword at the same time.  He can be so lovely sometimes.
Bazoukiboy  Well done Lazarus

Impatient Patient

Fester has woken up feeling shivery and achy.
He's probably just over done things but it's still worrying.
I would be having a lie in but he's the noisiest poorly person I know. Continuous sighing and swearing; has to have the telly on, continually changing channels for no obvious reason and swearing at that as well.
I'd get a more peaceful rest in Fenwicks’ window.
And the chances of him doing a lateral flow test range from zero to nil.

Two cards have been written, so I shall have to get up to the post office today with the Canada one, or persuade Thunderthighs to do it for me.

The new year planner is printed out and up on the wall, the first one I've done without school/college holidays shaded in.

The Tree

I’ve had a cat, or cats, since 1981;

Dominic, Tiddles, Matilda, Kitty (mad), Lisa and the current Felix and Teddy the Ginger Git.

To be fair, bar the odd low hanging bauble, none of my cats has ever done much to The Tree.

But this was Teddy’s first Christmas so…

That being said, this year they’ll probably make up for it.

To do list has gone from 15 items to 8; one of those being The Tree.
But before I can do The Tree, the corner
The Tree is to go in has to be cleared and sorted; which may take some time.
Then there's no knowing what mad Teddy and fearful Felix will do to The Tree between them.
All together now
Henlady  Now you know why I started hanging decorations from the ceiling !

It's A Cracker

Fester and I sat here discussing my Xmas gift.

I've asked for garden shears as Thunderthighs bust mine on the oak tree.
He's trying to work out whether and where he could buy a pair and suggests that if he can't get them he might buy me a hoe.
"As it's Christmas" says I
"you could get me three."
At that moment Thunderthighs puts his head around the office door and says
"Boom tish!"

Two Chateau Midden updates:-

1. The tree is up, and will be decorated tomorrow when it's relaxed a bit.

2. Our black&white Felix-cat has a green nose.  Not off the Xmas tree and it doesn't look like paint.  Unlikely that he'd be growing moss.

Would love to know what, where and how it came to be there.

Another unsolved mystery in the tapestry of life ....
