Feeling Ancient

As there was nothing in the Facebook Archives for today we’re doing a little hop backover (Dr Who eat your heart out)

Filling in a DBS* application I decided to dig out my birth certificate to get the birth details accurate; in particular the county (after the Tories messed about with them in 80s and 90s) 

Place of birth - Military Hospital South Tidworth 

Registrar JS Britton of Andover in the County of Southampton. 

So I googled County of Southampton and got:-

"Hampshire (/ˈhæmpʃər/ˈhæmpʃɪər/; abbreviated Hants, archaically known as the County of Southampton)" 

Archaically!!!

McChurch There there, dear.  Never mind.  Have a nice cup of tea.  (Actually very interesting post Ben, as I had never heard of it being the County of Southampton before).
