Fester
(BSc MSc PhD Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society) spent his career in scientific research, mostly in
entomology, and has written hundreds of learned papers about insects, their
distribution, their effects on crops and vice versa, which have been published
in several serious journals. Because of
his statistical expertise (number crunching) his name has also appeared in the
list of co-authors in many papers produced by the agricultural department (it’s
had many titles over the years) of Newcastle University; these have included
comparisons of the vitamins and minerals in carrots, and milk, produced by
conventional and organic farming.
Because
of this he regularly receives emails inviting him to submit papers to journals
or speak at scientific conferences. They
quickly find their way into the spam or trash box.
Apart from the fact he doesn’t want to, the
invitations are usually irrelevant to his areas of expertise.

So
there I was going through Fester's emails (because he chooses to be unable to do
so) and I come across:-
"Dear
Dr Fester,
We
tried contacting you several times, but since you never responded, we'd like to
do so once more as a courtesy.
For
the new edition, we are missing one article. Can you help us out by
contributing an article to this issue of the Annals of Alzheimer's and Dementia
Care (ISSN: 2692-448X) by March 02, 2023, at the latest?"

Sheamus Murphy It's so sad
when a commissioning editor is forgetful and is getting stressed!
