Having
lost most of my cabbage seedlings last night I decided it was time to reinstate
the nightly torchlit snail patrol.
Caught
one, up by where the seedlings were so it might be the bastard.
There were seven frogs in and on the pond. They are completely unconcerned by torchlight,
and I had a word with them about getting out and getting rid of snails and
slugs for me. I fear it fell on deaf
ears.
BTW I
don't kill the snails.
I put them in the
brown garden waste wheely bin and the council takes them away to theircomposting place every fortnight. What
happens to them there I know not. I
imagine them having a happy time noshing on all the wilting greenery.

Allotment Are you sure it's not pigeons? They can decimate a crop of brassica babies in
seconds. I know from heart-breaking
experience😞

No
snails, 4 frogs in the pond and next door's very chatty cat accompanying me on
my round.

I know this
is very late at 01.30, but I have just painted my front and back doorsteps,
something I've been trying to get around to doing since I moved in 2 years ago.
Never was the fortunate combination of
weather, doggy happy to stay in, stuff to hand and me awake enough.
Next stop pond!!!

No snails
last night, four frogs in the pond, Orion (next door's cat) was waiting for me
by the back door when I went out.

Just one
little snail, two frogs in the pond and no accompanying cat.
Cool and damp.

Last
night just one snail and no frogs visible, but next door's cat came bounding
down the lawn to meet me and chatted all the way around the garden.
Half way around I could hear piteous mewling
from a jealous Teddy peering through the kitchen window.
