“have just been to Asda to buy a new kettle”
Which prompted the following from MrsPH:-
What kind of kettle is it?
Does it knock you in the ear
when the boiling point is near
with a stream of steam and whistle to
demark,
that the water is now ready
for the bath n for the Teddy
so the little one can go and face the dark?
Does it make you feel at home
when you're tired and all alone
and a cuppa would really hit the mark?
The kettle is your friend
and faithful to the end
as long as your hearth has a spark!!
(Oh well, even Wordsworth had to start somewhere!)
Think I'll go and make a cup of tea now.
It's the cheapest Asda sell
And it's working very well
Though we've only had it less than half a day
The other was the same
And its only claim to fame
Was the phut and smell made as it passed away
