Back
when Fester worked for the University, he would go away on a PhD or Quality Low
Input Food conferences. These seemed to
happen in Greece or Turkey.
I never
minded him going as it was a break from his sleep apnoea
(oh the bliss of a bed
to oneself and a silent night) but he always came back laden with gifts.
The
other bits from Facebook archives are just because they were posted on this day …

Thunderthighs is missing his dad.
Usually Fester's trips to PhD or QLIF conferences are in term time so
Thunderthighs is occupied at school all day. This time he's just had me and whatever
amusements I can devise for him so it's really hit home his dad's not here.

Have you signed up to Skype? Its free.
It's not the same as a real Dad, but it’s still nice to be able to talk
face to face.
Bentonbag Fester is a man
challenged by the technical difficulties of a zip fastener on an overnight bag,
I can't envisage him accessing or utilising a webcam here let alone abroad.
He's still not sure how to put numbers in his
mobile 'phone, hasn't grasped the concept of a SIM card and as for texting ...

HE's back - Radio 3 on in the
kitchen, no access to the table and the occasional outburst of foul language.
Tia Maria, raki, After8s, a couple
of litres of olive oil, spices, various bits of Cretan pottery and a pair of
shoes have to be found homes for: the cheeses he intends taking to the University
farm to share out.

Not giving it away, just trying to find somewhere to
fit it into my midden of a house. BTW Ferretfingers got out of bed last night,
came into our room and said "Who's babysitting next weekend? Sienna's
babysitting" - I'm off to a ceilidh and a night away so Fester will have
the boys all to himself. But he'd obviously like to see you.
