The London Trip

When such things were allowed or advisable, we used to spend the few days between New Year and the start of the school term visiting my sister in London: which is why there’s a dearth of Facebook entries for around these dates.

We would take a family room in the National Hotel in Muswell Hill, a reasonable walk or short bus ride from Bigsister’s house.

From Facebook Archives 2019
On 2 January we took ourselves down to London to meet the Greatniece for the first time, to see the Niece and Bigsister and to give me an opportunity to spend some time with my friend Paula*.

We took a river bus down the Thames from Embankment to North Greenwich so I could have another ride on the cable car.
Thunderthighs (who hates heights) said he was going to be 'a brave soldier'.
Is this the face of 'a brave soldier'?

Ferretfingers is more of a dare devil and enjoyed it.

Using DLR, underground, overground we wombled up to Alexandra Palace and down again to Muswell Hill:  which is one of the few places where Fester can still be the same height as Thunderthighs.

*By then Paula was in hospital for the final time, she lasted until the Coven could meet around her bedside in February, and left us in early March.
