Today's theme has been recycling.
Last week Mrs Leftfoot had a clear out and gave me over a dozen empty Quality
St/Celebrations/similar tubs. Today I
took them to college, where Ferretfingers was doing art, because I knew Mrs Bun
would be there, dropping off her son, and could use them. She was delighted as she uses them for carting
about the lovely cakes she makes.
I
mentioned Mrs Quilt was looking for bits of broken terracotta pot or roof tiles
for a garden project.
"There's been a pile of old slate in our back alley for weeks, I'll ask
about them."
Half an hour later she was back and we shifted a
large Ikea bag load of slate from her boot to mine.
I phoned Mrs Quilt and after college drove down to hers where Mr Quilt and Ferretfingers
unloaded them into her garden.
I came away with a book of patterns and 4 balls of
red tinsel yarn for LDNE's knit'n'natter group (they'll be stored in the
cupboard until Christmas).
On the way home Ferretfingers and I popped into the Phone Repair Shop on Chilly Rd to
see if his ipods could be repaired - or if we could swap them for a new one.
"Cash Converters on Shields Rd is best for
that luv" says the lad, who repaired Thunderthighs's tablet last year so
we like him.
The ipods will be sorted Thursday (if we're
spared).
Mrs Leftfoot This week Mrs Leftfoot is STILL having a clearout and has found the Sandgate* twizzlers (???).As well as many books, toys, games, clothes, shoes and hundreds of plastic carrier bags of all shapes and sizes.... none of it mine. l could set up a jumble sale with this lot!
Apparently having a clearout is good for the soul. Apparently.
