Last year
I had an idea of how to replace the rotting garden table I was using for
potting and hardening off plants.
I had
an idea about using the double glazing units that were taken out when we
replaced our bedroom and front bay windows.
I made a little sketch and showed it to Will
Fixit, who has spent the past two days creating something even posher than I
imagined.
The main carcass is new wood
and flooring but the glass is from our old window and the top shelf uses old
oven shelves, so shade will be minimised when they are not in use.
The left over glazed units will be leant
against this shelf to give added protection to seedlings on the main middle
work surface shelf. The bottom shelf is
for storage and cat-shelter: the glazed units will give an added wall to that
in the winter.
I am well pleased.
We're
trying to think of a name for it.
Will
Fixit favours potting station.
Fester
wants to call it the potting shed, but it isn't a shed.
I'm told I can't call it the potting pergola
because you can't walk through it, it isn't arched and there's nothing growing
over it
(yet - next door's ivy will have a good go).
Any suggestions? Clean and
suitable for a family audience, obviously.

Two shelves better: At swim two

Mrs
Quilt He likes
a challenge! Nice satisfying small filler job for him, space for more seedlings
for you. Result all round: Potting
shelter seeing as the cats are catered for.
