Keyboard Query

Sometimes Facebook friends can be quite helpful and generous

Anyone know if/where I can get a reasonably priced replacement keyboard for No2 computer - the space bar only responds if I thump it really hard and it's really really aggravating?
Alternatively - how do I clean the damn thing to stop the space bar from sticking?
Goddaughter Mum might have a spare if little brother hasn't decided it's his
Bentonbag What annoys me is we took a couple to Acorn Recycling because we didn't think we'd need them :(
Mr Melodeon We have a spare you can have. Also a Dell monitor.
Bentonbag Thanks  - will swap for jam or chutney?
Mr Melodeon There's no charge - only if you have a little to spare.
Bentonbag  Mr Melodeon, come to the garage with me - we have a LOT to spare ...
Mr Melodeon I can come around on Thursday morning to drop it in.  Do you want the monitor too?  It has a dodgy on / off button by otherwise is ok.
Bentonbag We're fine for monitors thanks - that would be great - see you Thursday
Mr Melodeon Ok. By the way the keyboard is brand new & so has no detritus probs.
Mr Gobiron There is a time to play "Working keyboard or bust".  Some keyboards can be improved by aggravated dunking in a bucket of vaguely soapy water.  After a suitable drying period, you will find out whether it's improved or dead.
Similar techniques include
1) turning it upside down and beating it viciously against a table (at least you'll get the crumbs out) or
2) a squirt of wd40

The solutions suggested by Mr Gobiron are not ones I have ever tried or would endorse.

If you dear reader are rash enough to try them, on your own head be it.
