Today, trying to find Acorn Computer Recycling, I stopped to ask the way of a security guy near Swan Hunters.
After he'd told me he said "You just come off the ferry then?"
"No, I've just come from Four Lane Ends. Why?"
"Oh I thought you sounded Dutch."
WTF???
Carmarthenshire-Welsh/Geordie combo may be unusual - and I've been asked if I'm Irish before by some cloth eared person - but Dutch caps it all (sorry - but it had to be said).
Not that there's anything amiss with being or sounding Dutch of course - just I'm not and it threw me.
Tylebach Mawr I am working with a Scot based in Dublin who thought I was South Afrikaans ... It's their hearing!
