Caged Gnome

Dad grew up in West Wales, Mum on Tyneside.  They met in the War and eventually settled in Dad's family home.  He promised her that he would take her "back up North" to see her family every year.  He kept that promise, first by train and then by car.  I came up to Newcastle University and settled here, going home two or three times a year, first by train and then by car:  A19, A1M, M42, M5, M50, A40.

8 April 2019.

For many years as I've driven through Trecastle, on the A40,
I've wondered about the roadside second hand/house clearance/junk/ antiques emporium with lot of its wares sitting outside.
Today, as we were up that way, we parked across the road and had a lovely rake through everything.
I don't know what this gnome did to be imprisoned in a budgie cage - maybe he's training the budgie?
