On Mondays Ferretfingers goes to
Independent Lives at the Rising Sun Country Park Farm.
"I'm going to the farm tomorrow" he said this evening out of the
blue.
"Do you like the farm?"
"I love the farm."
"What do you like especially about the farm?"
"The horse."
"Do you pet the horse? Do you stroke the
horse?"
"I brush the horse."
My son the groom .....
Henlady Lovely boy, after
my own heart.
Bess Cavalier There may be a vocation there ...
Sandy One of the chaps I
used to work with got a supported job in a dog grooming parlour.
Bentonbag Ferretfingers doesn't like dogs at all (bad experiences as a small
child) and not too keen on cats either (although he insists we have two). I suspect the larger animals at Rising Sun are
exceedingly placid.
No longer exists because of cuts?
ReplyDeleteAmongst other things. Service providers are limited in what they can do by the budget the local authority is able to provide the the service users or is willing to pay. Staff, premises, power etc all have to be paid for and as budgets shrink fewer organisations can afford to carry on. Also staff may be caring but when they can get better money, with less responsibility, working in a supermarket it's very hard to recruit and retain them.
